Grants for In-Service Training in Mathematics

Supported by the Clarence Olander Fund and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), the School In-Service Training Grants (PreK–5) provide financial assistance to elementary schools for in-service education in mathematics. For 2019–2020, grants of a maximum of $4,000 each will be awarded for honoraria and expenses for consultants, materials, substitute time, and conference or workshop registrations.

Working at the intersection of ocean science and arts education, Bow Seat’s award-winning programming emphasizes creative thinking and making in exploring the natural world. In 2011 founder Linda Cabot and her daughters embarked on a journey to film a documentary—From the Bow Seat—about environmental issues impacting the Gulf of Maine. After her experiences at sea, Cabot wanted to inspire and encourage young people to think carefully about the ocean, so she began the annual Ocean Awareness Student Contest in partnership with the Gulf of Maine Marine Education Association
