The Board of Directors of the Virginia Society for Technology in Education is pleased to announce the selection of Craig Spraggins as its next executive director.
Craig currently serves as an Instructional Technology Specialist with Loudoun County Public Schools. He also serves as conference lead for the VSTE annual conference. He was also an Instruction Technology Coordinator in Arlington Public Schools. With almost twenty years serving the VSTE community through his support of the annual conference Craig is excited to take on this next challenge.
“VSTE has had an ever growing opportunity to support Virginia educators through the hard work of past executive directors. The Board of Directors is excited about this next phase of our growth and support of the community. Craig has done great things as the lead for VSTE’s annual conference. We are excited to have him bring his energy and commitment to the organization as a whole,” said JB Reynolds, VSTE’s Board Treasurer.
Craig will begin his tenure on July 1, 2025, upon the retirement of the current Executive Director, Rod Carnill.
As former President of the Board of Directors, a former colleague of Mr. Spraggins, and a forever-member of the VSTE family, I applaud and celebrate the selection of Mr. Spraggins as the next Executive Director, continuing a long line of phenomenal experts at the helm of our beloved organization. Congratulations, Craig! This is well-deserved and most well-earned, as you have been an indispensable member of our organization for as long as any of us can remember. Your work in educational technology in the Commonwealth stands as a testament to your expertise, love of children, and support of teachers. Best wishes for all the wild success we are sure you will bring!
