Digital Learning Day 2013

February 6, 2013

Join VSTE and the Virginia Department of Education to celebrate Digital Learning in Virginia! We will host a series of webinars on February 6, 2013, featuring the Educational Technology Leadership award winners.

Schedule:

11 - 11:30 AM Jamey McKenna, Roanoke City Public Schools: An ITRT talks about helping teachers integrate technology with examples and resources Archived Recording

Special Preview: 12:30 - 1:00 PM Steve Sandak, My Digital Life
My Digital Life is a 3.5 hour web-based platform that helps students develop critical digital skills such as appropriate texting practices, conducting quality online research, and how to prevent cyber-bullying. Many educators leading keyboarding, computer applications, marketing and digital input classes have found this program to be an engaging and helpful resource. My Digital Life is available at no cost to schools across the Commonwealth because of a statewide grant from Neustar, a telecommunications company based out of Sterling, Virginia. Archived Recording

1 - 1:30 PM James Daly, Charlottesville City Public Schools: ITRT discusses planning, projects and resources related to technology Archived Recording
8 PM Adam Seldow, Chesterfield County Public Schools Archived Recording

Digital Learning Day 2012

February 1, 2012

February 1, 2012

VSTE celebrated the first Digital Learning Day throughout the day on February 1, 2012. We sponsored a series of webinars co-hosted with the Virginia Department of Education that featured a few regional educational technology leadership award winners talking about digital learning initiatives at their schools:

10 AM Ena Wood, Arlington Public Schools Archive

2 PM David Rankin, Chesterfield Public Schools Archive

7 PM Gigi Badawi, Chesapeake Public Schools, followed by a conversation about Mobile Learning with the officers of our Mobile Learning SIG Archive

Thanks to Adobe for their support of the VSTELive! webinar series!

You might also consider getting involved in Digital Learning Day in other ways including making a video with your students talking about what digital learning means.  Post a photo to flickr that shows innovation.  Tweet your ideas or post to the VSTE Facebook page.  Whatever you do, be sure to use the hashtag #vadlday.
